Noyers is a wonderful place to enjoy a holiday and explore all that Burgundy has to offer. This delightful medieval village, almost encircled by the sleepy Serein river, is a member of the exclusive Les Plus Beaux Villages de France.
The cobbled streets of the village centre offer a range of amenities, including an excellent boulangerie, two convenience stores and two restaurants — all just a couple of minutes' walk away. Chablis, where you can sample the region's world-famous wine and gastronomy, is only a 25-minute drive.
Among many other nearby places worth visiting are the chateaux of Tanlay, and Bazoches, the medieval cities of Auxerre and Tonnerre, the prehistoric caves at Arcy and the UNESCO world heritage site at Vézelay.
Slightly further afield are the tranquil lakes and forests of the Morvan hills and the famous wine regions of Beaune and Sancerre. All can be enjoyed on day trips, and Paris is easily accessible by TGV from nearby Montbard.
The surrounding Yonne countryside is perfect for enjoying many outdoor activities, such as walking, cycling, horse-riding and boat trips.
